Quite informative piece of work, but what i assume is hijra, xanith or 2 spirit people all those terms belongs to old civilizations. The reason why west does not acknowledge it is; there was never taken any considerations to this reality in this region in past.

Mughals, old arab and hindu kingdoms already acknowledged the presence of male/female indviduals who were attracted towards the same sex or had inner desire to deny their gender identification.

We do have people who undergo M-to-F and F-to-M operations in western countries.

The thing what I sometimes wonders about is if hijras are all men so where are Hijri (female eunach) how comes we never see women in south east asia who dress up as men and want to be identified as men.

There are some cases when you born as hermphordits(have both male and female sexual organs) but it is at very rare... I believe 1 out of thousand hijras are born with both sexual organs
